We have been contacted by numerous persons regarding a national mystery shopper scam involving cashing fraudulent checks. These checks are accompanied by a letter requesting that recipients perform a service evaluation at an outlet of their choice. Recently, the checks that accompany this letter appear to have been issued by TrendSource, Inc. If you receive a check from TrendSource, Inc. for a large sum of money ($1,000 to $5,000), DO NOT CASH IT! As a Field Agent for TrendSource clients, you are an Independent Contractor for MSI Services Inc. You would never receive a check from TrendSource, Inc. for this type of work.

This fraudulent activity has used a Canadian contact telephone number (area code 450), but may be using others as well.

TrendSource, Inc. is located in San Diego, CA and has absolutely no affiliation with this fraudulent activity. We are a legally registered business providing legitimate Mystery Shopping Services to Fortune 1000 companies.

If you receive a check for a large sum, please contact us immediately at 619-718-7467 (dial 0) and report the activity to your local officials. Please also note that if you are contacted by TrendSource to complete service evaluations at various check cashing outlets, this is a legitimate assignment. However, TrendSource would NEVER send you a check to complete this type of work. If you are unsure, please contact us at the phone number listed above.
